To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the City of Novi Michigan, The DCBA hosted their annual outing on Monday May 20th at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Northville MI.
The competition attracted 88 golfers and 150 guests in total from across the country and from China to participate in the golf outing and evening reception & banquet.
With great camaraderie between the players on the course and sharing insights of the future of mobility garnered new friendships. In the spring of Michigan, everything is revived, and the birds and flowers are fragrant. At 11 o’clock in the morning, the weather was fine with a mist in the early morning. President Brian Gao thanked and welcomed everyone to take a group photo.
With everyone in their chariots 22 teams drove to the target area on the pitch.
At noon, the weather is getting better and the temperature is slowly rising. Golfers from all walks of life are playing and laughing on the challenging course. It is a scene of easy and cheerful.
The DCBA team drove through all corners of the lovely course and taking photos and building new memories.
There are endless joys and yes frustrations on the golf course, hole by hole, shot by shot, another wonderful DCBA golf tournament is in the books.
By 5 o’clock, all the golfers freshened up in the reception area of the club to share stories of the game they recently completed.
Later, the golfers and our evening guests all came together at the Banquet. The relaxed and pleasant atmosphere of the Meadowbrook Country Club, guests, toasting with old and their new friends, talking and laughing.
President Brian Gao welcomed all banquet guest, thanking all the players for their active participation and the support of DCBA annual and event sponsors.
Deputy County Executive Dr. Tim Meyer of Oakland County introduced and reviewed Michigan’s Mobility development, reflected on the City of Novi’s humble beginnings and bright future. Thanked the DCBA for its contribution to the region’s community and economic development, followed by Mr. Victor Cardenas, Assistant City Manager of Novi’s Wine toast to all and commemorative cake to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Novi.
At the dinner, Mr. Stephen Surhigh, vice president and general manager of HARMAN International, a world-renowned cloud service provider, gave a presentation on their company and a theme report on “Connectivity and the Future of Mobility”.
Mr. Tom Roberts, Vice President of QAD, a global leading provider of ERP management software, follow up presentation “Driving Disruptive Innovation”.
Mr.Joe Buick,Vice President of Marsh USA and Mr. Myles Miller of Beasley gave a presentation “Cyber-Insurance in a V2X world”.
The foursome of Kim Xu, Daniel Feng, Edward Zhao and Haimian Cai won the “Gold Club Award” for this event. President Gao once again thanked the special sponsors of the event, Chrysan and Page Toyota & Honda’s strong sponsorship. At the same time, some sponsors were invited to award the trophy to the winning team.
From David Cassel; Mike Williams; Steve Cassel; Mike LaCroix won the “Silver Club Award” and Jue Wang presented the trophy.
From Michael Murphy; Novo Bojovic; Jenny Zou; Jay Thompson won the “Bronze Club Award” for this event, and Chrysan awarded the trophy.
From Greg Nicholas, the “Closest to the pin” of the tournament was won, and Ms. Fangyi Wang from China Telecom awarded the trophy.
Then we also conducted a live sweepstakes.
Our event sponsors included: Chrysan Industries; OFS Furniture Solutions & PAGE Toyota and Honda, who have been supporting the DCBA as annual sponsor for years, were also the “Hole in One” Sponsor for the day.
