The Account Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies to promote long-term trusting relationships with our clients. This individual will oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new business opportunities. In this role, you will negotiate contracts, conduct presentations, serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.
Manage existing customer accounts, conduct commercial negotiations, and pursue new opportunities to grow the business portfolio.
Develop and maintain positive customer relationships with purchasing and engineering contacts through visits, meetings, and phone calls in frequent cooperation with related functions within company.
Ensure customer requirements are communicated throughout the organization.
Be knowledgeable regarding current products, applications, trends, and key aspects of company relationship with each customer.
Understand competitive environment, stay up to date on industry trends.
Research potential new market opportunities and customers to target.
Prepare and conduct sales presentations to existing and prospective customers highlighting company products and capabilities.
Develop effective sales strategies to best promote the company’s core products by conducting research and cost analysis with assigned customer base.
Prepare quotes as approved by management and consistent with customer requirements.
Produce accurate and timely reporting to management of sales activities, program statuses, and any open issues.
Engage with customers as needed to resolve accounts receivable issues.
Serve as key user for customers’ supplier portals; coordinate with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and other functions to ensure customer needs and goals are communicated and being met.
This position may require occasional travel.
Other duties as assigned.
• B2B sales experience required.
• Automotive manufacturing / powertrain components experience is preferred.
• Automotive OEM experience
• Project management a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
