Productive month for the Detroit Chinese Business Association

Earlier this month, a follow up from DCBA trip to China, a Wuhan delegation came to town, with meetings and presentations with Deputy Mayor Ike McKinnon, Senior Economic Advisor to Mayor Duggan David Woessner, new Detroit Economic Growth Corporation CEO Roderick Miller, MICH Auto’s Rob Luce, and Bruce Schwartz of Rock Ventures. Later this month, The Detroit Chinese Business Association played host to a group of deputy directors from Shenzhen which many of you know was the first and most successful Special Economic Zones with a population of 15 million and becoming the Silicon Valley of Hardware … We all had the good fortune of being guests of the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP) 31st Annual AGLOW Gala, over 800 Detroit Business & Community Leaders enjoyed a wonderful table side turkey carving dinner. The DCBA would like to thank DDP CEO Eric Larson, and his team and organization for welcoming our guests from Shenzhen with open arms.
Newly Elected Wayne County Executive Warren Evans and Mayor Mike Duggan also graciously and personally welcomed the 16 member delegation.
Bruce Schwartz & Taylor Hunter provided an inspiring Rock presentation at Compuware HQ, where Shenzhen officials were amazed and excited of what is happening in Downtown Detroit. Later that day, Shenzhen came to visit the DCBA Offices in Troy, shopping at Somerset Collection and a warm and wonderful 1st annual DCBA Thanksgiving Sponsorship Appreciation Dinner at Somerset Inn.

Governor Snyder in China
DCBA Sponsors Corrigan Air and Sea Moving Systems and Oakland County Economic Development Corporation joined Governor Richard D. Snyder, The MEDC International Team & 9 Michigan companies on a trade mission to China. DCBA was happy to learn that Secretary General Dong Yang whom was DCBA guest of honor at our annual USA China Forum sponsored by the Third Wave Group this past June at Petruzzello’s in Troy, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Michigan Automotive Office which formally deepens collaborations.
